Italian Fire

Staged live at Holy Trinity Church, Rotherhithe, SE16 5HF

This concert has sold out; if you would like to attend please do email us at for returns, or join our mailing list to receive details of our 2024/5 season in March.

Mezzo Camilla Seale and countertenor Tristram Cooke perform some of the most awe-inspiring work of Italian composers - and their imitators - of the late-seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries, including Antonio Vivaldi, Alessandro Scarlatti and George Frideric Handel. Staying true to our aim to celebrate the rarely heard, this programme will juxtapose well-known arias with excerpts from operas rarely staged in the UK, ending in an entire, five voice cantata by Cristoforo Caresana based on the famous southern Italian dance purported to cure spider bites, the Tarantella.

As ever, a bar serving wine, soft drinks and Holy Trinity's famous home-infused gins will be open from 7pm.

This concert will finish at 9:10pm.

Antonio Vivaldi:               Excerpts from L'Olimpiade and
