La Caxa di Vitio e Virtù
Or, The House of Vice and Virtue

Staged live at Holy Trinity Church, Rotherhithe, SE16 5HF

In 1514, the diarist Marin Sanudo noted that Venice's musicians were in mourning for the courtesan and famed singer Lucia Trivixan, who drew many to her home in Cannaregio for musical gatherings.

Using some of the first printed music for voices, lute and keyboard, Musica Antica recreate one such night at her home that year, with lutenist-singer Kristiina Watt playing the role of Lucia herself.

As ever, a bar serving refreshments including Holy Trinity's famous fruit gins will be open from 7pm.

This concert will finish at 9:10pm.
