Musica Antica present portraits in music of the 17th Century's most prolific female composers: Barbara Strozzi, the most published female composer of her age; the virtuoso violinist and nun Isabella Leonarda; and Antonia Bembo, who left Italy to join the service of the Sun King, Louis XIV.

This concert will be the first professional performance of Bembo's works in a new edition prepared by students at the University of Sheffield and released on the public domain.
